Un ballo in maschera is the work chosen by Friends of the Opera of A Coruña to inaugurate the new season’s programme. The cast, which brings together some of the best Verdian voices of today, is headed by Gregory Kunde. The American tenor will give life to the main character, Riccardo, in this melodrama in three acts by composer Giuseppe Verdi and librettist Antonio Somma. Two performances have been scheduled, one on September 1st and another on the 3rd, at the Teatro Colón of A Coruña. They will be conducted by Maestro Ramón Tebar, leading the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia and the chorus Gaos. The stage director of this new production of Un ballo in maschera will be Mario Pontiggia.
