The American tenor Gregory Kunde will soon be giving a concert of the great arias from Italian opera, in the company of the baritone Juan Jesús Rodríguez and the Orquesta Sinfónica del Liceu. Maestro Manuel Coves will conduct. The event takes place February 12th at the Gran Teatro del Liceu of Barcelona.
The concert programme includes arias and instrumental pieces from well-known operas by Verdi, such as I Vespri Siciliani, Luisa Miller, Un Ballo in Maschera, Aida, Don Carlo and Otello. It also includes arias by composers of Italian verismo, such as Leoncavallo (I Pagliacci), Puccini (Manon Lescaut) and Giordano (Andrea Chenier). Kunde recorded some of these arias last August for an album that will soon be released by Universal.
