Gregory Kunde is pictured on the front page of yesterday’s edition of the Spanish newspaper El País. On Thursday September 15th the American singer will open the opera season at Teatro Real, starring in Otello, by Verdi. This production also kicks off the celebrations commemorating the institution’s bicentennial. The newspaper also has an extensive article, written by Rubén Amón, entitled “Otello was born in Kankakee” (the Illinois city of Kunde’s birth).
