From April 21st through April 30th Gregory Kunde will be singing, once again, the title role of Otello,this time at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo. Considered one of the best Otellos of our times, Kunde will be accompanied on stage by George Petean (Jago), Ioan Hotea (Cassio), Reinaldo Macias (Lodovico), In-Sung Sim (Montano) and Jean-Marie Delpas (Desdémona). The well-known opera in four acts by Giuseppe Verdi to an Italian libretto by Arrigo Boito, based on Shakespeare’s play Othello, the Moor of Venice, will be conducted by Daniele Callegari. The maestro will be leading the Chœur de l’Opéra de Monte-Carlo and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo. Stage direction is by Valencia-born stage director Allex Aguilera.
